Bluewater Power Distribution Corporation is the founding member of the Bluewater Power Group of Companies, headquartered in Sarnia Ontario. We have an immediate opening for one (1) Technology Analyst within the Information Technology department. This is a permanent, full-time, non-union position, reporting to the Director, Information Technology.
Job Duties:
Software Licensing & Maintenance Renewals
• Maintain an accurate inventory of all software licenses, entitlements, maintenance agreements, and renewal dates.
• Coordinate vendor engagements, quotes, and renewals to ensure uninterrupted support and compliance.
• Track usage levels and conduct periodic audits to identify optimization opportunities and cost savings.
• Assist in the evaluation of new software and licensing models when required.
Telecom Administration
• Process mobile device requests including new orders, activations, upgrades, number changes, and deactivations.
• Liaise with telecom vendors to resolve billing, coverage, device, and plan-related issues.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all corporate mobile assets and user assignments.
• Support end users with device setup, troubleshooting, and configuration as required.
• Coordinate corporate telecom user accesses and changes.
Technology Asset Management
• Maintain the technology asset inventory across the full asset lifecycle (procurement, deployment, support, and retirement).
• Tag and document all new technology assets and ensure accurate tracking within asset management systems.
• Conduct regular audits of hardware and software assets for accuracy, compliance, and depreciation planning.
• Assist with procurement activities, budgeting inputs, and forecasting for asset refresh cycles.
Corporate Cybersecurity Management
• Coordinate and manage ongoing cybersecurity awareness programs for all employees.
• Administer phishing simulation campaigns and track results.
• Ensure completion of required cybersecurity training modules and report compliance metrics to leadership.
• Collaborate with IT Security and HR to refine training content and scheduling.
• Provide user assistance and troubleshooting for training platform access and course completion.
• Coordinate Ontario Cyber Security Standard regulatory process requirements.
Physical Security Administration
• Support administration of corporate physical security systems, including:
o Access control systems (badge issuance, privilege updates, revocations).
o Video surveillance systems (camera inventory, access privilege management, export of footage for investigations).
o Intrusion detection systems (user codes, alarm lists, escalation contacts).
• Maintain accurate records of all physical security permissions, access levels, and device locations.
• Work with Facilities, HR, and IT Security to enforce physical security policies and align access privileges with onboarding/offboarding procedures.
• Coordinate basic vendor interactions and service calls related to security hardware/software maintenance.
General IT Support & Administration
• Provide tier-2 support for end user technology inquiries related to software access, licensing, mobility, and asset tracking.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring technology issuance and recovery is accurate and timely.
• Participate in IT projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Document procedures, knowledge base articles, and workflows related to assigned responsibilities.
• Performs other work assignments as required.
Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Business Technology Management, or a related field from an accredited educational institution.
• Three or more years of experience in IT operations, asset management, procurement, telecom administration, or similar role.
• Experience managing software contracts or licensing programs is an asset.
• Experience with cybersecurity awareness training platforms (e.g., KnowBe4) is preferred.
• Working knowledge of IT asset management (ITAM) principles and tools.
• Familiarity with software licensing types (subscription, perpetual, enterprise agreements, user/device licensing).
• Good understanding of mobile device ecosystems (iOS/Android) and corporate mobility practices.
• Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools for audit, tracking, and compliance reporting.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices and user awareness programs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Position requires occasional lifting of technology equipment (up to 20 lbs).
• May require occasional after-hours or weekend work during renewal deadlines, system updates, or key training cycles.
