Water Customer Service Field Representative – 8-month contract
Bluewater Power Services Corporation (an affiliate of Bluewater Power Distribution) is a progressive local Services company providing electrical service to over 35,000 customers in the City of Sarnia (a community located along the beautiful shores of Lake Huron) and surrounding area.
This is a temporary, full-time, union position.
Job Duties:
- Conduct on site visits which include reading, inspecting and maintenance of water meters
- Provide accurate residential and general service water meter readings
- Perform water meter disconnects and reconnects
- Perform water meter changes as required, this will include trouble shooting
- Inspect new water meter installations
- Locate, trouble shoot, repair and or maintain meter pits
- Provide guidance on water conservation practices and service procedures
- Ensure accurate data recording and reporting for service requests and completion of work orders
- Communicate with customers on water issues
- Investigate and resolve a variety of issues in regards to water meters including but not limited to water leaks, pressure problems and meter malfunctions
- Perform all work in a manner that is efficient, cost effective and safe. All work must be performed to comply with Bluewater Power Policies and Procedures and safety rules
- Complete all job-related documentation pertaining to work related procedures
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary diploma in related discipline from an accredited educational institution or equivalent education and experience
- Completion of 800A Water Meter Installation Certification Advanced knowledge of plumbing and compression fittings
- Knowledge of SAP and the ITRON meter reading system an asset
- Must be able to work and problem solve independently and in a team environment
- Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license
- Capable of working in confined spaces and in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Possess Customer Service Skills
- Must abide by the Occupational Health & Safety rules, IHSA Electrical Utilities Safety Rules and any associated safety regulations
